With the recent
addition, the nation’s COVID-19 cases has moved up to 208,630, Nigeria
Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed
this via its official website on Friday morning.
The nation also saw 203
patients been discharged from hospitals after tested negative to the disease.
However, another six people
have succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours.
To date, 196,326
Nigeria residents who tested positive
for COVID-19 have had their cases classified as resolved, while 2,767 people
have lost their lives to the disease since February 27, when the country
reported its first COVID-19 case.
The active caseload
increased by 17 on Thursday. Now stands at 9,537.
According to breakdown
release by NCDC, Seventy-three of the new cases were identified in Abuja, the Federal
Capital Territory.
Plateau in second place
with thirty-four cases, Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria reported
twenty-five cases and Gombe reported twenty-two cases.
Abia state had sixteen
of the new cases, thirteen in Osun, seven cases each in Kano and Rivers, six cases
each in Ekiti, Kaduna and Oyo.
Five cases in Delta, three
in Edo, two in Jigawa and onein Nasarawa.
Today’s report
includes four states with zero cases reported: Bauchi, Ogun, ondo, and Sokoto,
NCDC noted.
