Nigeria's COVID-19 chart continues to show improvement, with the country recording 42 cases, an increase from 27 cases reported the previous day.
The number of fresh cases reported on a daily basis
came down to less than the 100-mark, between 20 and 70 since February 5, 2022 when
the country reported 145 cases.
No death were recorded for the fifth
consecutive day, while the country announced the discharged of 15 new patients
after fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19, according to the Nigeria
Centre for Disease Control NCDC report.
As a result, the fatality toll remained at 3,142
and a total of 230,861 persons have been successfully treated and discharged
since 2020 when the index case for the virus was recorded in the country.
The country's active caseload currently stands
at 20,406, an increased from 20,364 Tuesday.
NCDC stated that the new cases that were
identified in 4 states and the Federal Capital Territory, brought the total
number of laboratory-confirmed cases in Nigeria to 254,394 on Wednesday.
The breakdown of the latest data shows that Lagos
reported 25 cases, FCT had 13 cases, Kaduna had 2 cases, Kano and Oyo reported
1 case each.
NCDC added that eight states reported zero cases: Bauchi, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto.
