    WIMCA: New Digital Platform To Boost Interaction Among Industry Women Unveiled At 2023 Conference

    A new online platform tagged ‘WIMCA Network’ has been unveiled at the just concluded 2023 Women in Marketing and Communication Conference/Award (WIMCA) held on November 17 & 18 at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The convener of WIMCA, Mr. Joshua Ajayi, made the announcement during his opening speech at the conference. He explained that the online platform was created to foster daily conversation and deepen mentorship among marketing and communication women professionals within the country and outside.

    Ajayi revealed that the creation of the WIMCA Network was in “response to the consistent call for us to expand the WIMCA platform beyond a yearly programme, to a global platform that will create a sustainable community where members can interact daily.

    Speaking further he said, “With time, the platform will consistently identify current trends in the marketing and communications industry, provide solutions to career challenges, and create ways to provide mentorship opportunities for young and prospective professionals.

    According to him, a window for free registration to join the platform by all stakeholders will be announced before the end of the year.

    The convener also stated that the WIMCA platform was designed to help ignite or propel women toward attaining enviable heights in marketing and management. especially since it became a two-day event last year, 2022. His words, “We had a two-day exhibition, masterclasses, and other initiatives that made last year’s WIMCA very robust, engaging, exciting, and memorable for attendees. This year, the two-day format remains but we are taking this a nudge higher”.

    He explained that WIMCA over the years, has dissected how women can create opportunities for greater exposure, elevate their personalities, deepen their performances, and consolidate on the impact they have created to position themselves for premium “WIMCA platform was designed to provide mentorship opportunities for current and prospective professionals to help ignite or propel women towards attaining enviable heights in marketing and management m performance” he stressed.

    He also said that it is their passion to tackle many recurring challenges that have kept WIMCA pushing for the past seven years.
    On the celebration of the top 50 female marketers, Ajayi said, “Part of the glamour we started last year that generated great excitement among industry stakeholders was the recognition of the top 50 women marketers in Nigeria. It turned out to be one of the most glamorous and prestigious recognition projects ever hosted exclusively for women in Sub-Saharan Africa. This year we have taken it a nudge higher”.

    The two-day exciting event had captains of industries, top female industry players, business owners, the media, and students of Marketing and Communication from various Universities across the country in attendance.
