Xiaomi EV Releases Official Images of its First Model SU7

Xiaomi is gearing up for its first-ever launch event focused on electric vehicle (EV) technology, scheduled for later today, December 28. A teaser posted on social media provides a sneak peek at Xiaomi's debut passenger car, the all-electric sedan named Xiaomi SU7, where 'SU' stands for Speed Ultra.

This four-wheeler comes equipped with Xiaomi's HyperOS operating system, and the teaser showcases a sleek sedan design in a stylish grey finish.

Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, shared the first official look of the SU7, hinting at the car's integration with smartphones and smart home accessories.

Lei Jun emphasised the intelligent technology incorporated into the new EV, drawing inspiration from advanced car systems like the Tesla Model S. Although technical specifications and pricing details are yet to be disclosed, Xiaomi promises that the SU7 will surpass expectations.

The EV is currently in trial production and is expected to hit the domestic market in the coming months.

Xiaomi's "Stride" event, happening outside China, will not feature product releases but will delve into the technology behind Xiaomi's foray into electric cars. The event kicks off at 2:00 pm Beijing time, lasting three hours. While the SU7's speed is anticipated to reach 210 km/h for the base model, the SU7 Max variant may offer an impressive 265 km/h.
