AFCON 2023: Central Bank Delay Super Eagles Bonuses, Allowances

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is yet to receive monies meant for the payment of Super Eagles’ bonuses and allowances at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Federal Government approved the money before the start of the competition.

According to SCORENigeria, the NFF has yet to receive any payment from the CBN.

Each player is due a $5,000 bonus for a win while the camp allowance is $200 a player daily.

The players are to be paid 12,500 each for the two wins and draw from the group stage.

The Officials blamed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the delay in the payment of bonuses and camp allowances of the Super Eagles at the AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

The only payment received by the Super Eagles was camp allowance to cover the training camp in Dubai and part of their stay in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Super Eagles will take on perennial rivals Cameroon in a Round of 16 contest at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Saturday (today).
