American rapper Curtis James Jackson III, known as 50 Cent, has shared his current favorite song.
In a recently viral interview clip, he expressed his
admiration for "Me & U," a track by Grammy-winning Nigerian
artist Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems.
“My current song on repeat is ‘Me & U’ by Tems,” he
stated.
This song serves as the lead single from Tems' highly
praised debut studio album, "Born In The Wild."
The track generated some debate after winning the Bobby
Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the 2024 BET Awards, with critics
questioning the appropriateness of a secular song triumphing over works by
gospel icons such as Kirk Franklin, Shirley Caesar, CeCe Winans, and Maverick
City Music.
