In a move set to redefine how Nigerians experience the festive season, Access Bank Plc has partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture to launch the Detty Fusion Initiative, a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to simplify the discovery, planning, and enjoyment of entertainment events both locally and for Nigerians in the diaspora.

The initiative, unveiled at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, is positioned as a one-stop entertainment aggregator, combining event calendars, ticket purchasing, exclusive discounts, curated experiences, and seamless payments into a single, centralized hub. Organizers hope it will transform how Lagosians and visitors interact with the city’s vibrant cultural scene during the festive season and beyond.

Speaking at the launch, Chizoma Okoli, Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, highlighted the partnership’s potential to amplify Lagos’ reputation as a cultural and creative powerhouse. Represented by Ishmael Nwokocha, Group Head of Mobility Business, Okoli emphasized that the initiative aligns with the “THEMES” agenda of the current Lagos State administration, fostering shared value for the state, the creative ecosystem, and the public.

“Considering that Lagos has grown to be the hub of everything business and fun, we are certain that Access Bank will continuously position the State at the forefront of the creative economy,” Okoli said. He explained that the Detty Fusion Initiative was born out of the need to address common challenges associated with Detty December celebrations, such as overpriced tickets, lack of accommodation, difficult payment processes, opportunistic pricing, and traffic congestion.

Access Bank aims to make the festive experience seamless by offering solutions ranging from HMO schemes, event bookings, ticketing services, and connections to recreational and tourism activities, effectively reducing the stress of planning for the holidays.

“So we asked ourselves, how can people enjoy the festive period without the usual pain points? How do we provide accommodation for visitors, and how do we help Lagosians and tourists create memorable experiences?” Okoli added.
