In a statement issued by the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, the carrier confirmed it had acknowledged the apologies and accepted the assurances from both individuals to avoid behaviour that could compromise aviation safety in the future.
“United Nigeria Airlines acknowledges and accepts the public apologies issued by VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof following the onboard altercation that occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on 17 November 2025,” the statement read.
The airline noted that both influencers had publicly committed via social media to refrain from conduct that disrupts order, safety, or decorum onboard aircraft. United Nigeria Airlines expressed confidence that these commitments would be honoured, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful travel environment for all passengers.
The statement also commended the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Airport Security (AVSEC), Asaba Airport Authority, other aviation agencies, and the airline’s crew for their prompt and professional response to the incident in line with established safety protocols.
Highlighting its cooperation with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and aviation regulators, the airline reiterated its commitment to curbing unruly behaviour among passengers and urged all travellers to comply with airline staff and security officials to ensure safe and orderly air travel.
