Ogunmodede was appointed as Kano Pillars' new technical adviser on Saturday, ending a highly successful spell with former NPFL champions Remo Stars.
The 46-year-old spent more than a decade with the Ikenne-based club, where he played a key role in their rise to prominence in Nigerian football and established himself as one of the country's most respected coaches.
He stepped down from his position at Remo Stars towards the end of last season, paving the way for his move to Kano.
With pre-season preparations now underway, Ogunmodede is expected to assess his squad while working with the club's management to strengthen key areas before the new campaign begins.
Kano Pillars are also expected to be active in the transfer market as they seek to recruit quality players capable of improving the team's competitiveness.
The 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 28, with Kano Pillars aiming to return to the upper end of the table under their new coach.
