Nigerian reality TV star Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has expressed concerns over what he described as the changing dynamics of dating in the country.
The former Big Brother Naija winner, in a recent video, shared his frustrations about finding a compatible partner, saying the dating experience has become increasingly challenging.
Whitemoney, who spoke in a lighthearted manner, suggested that financial expectations have become a major factor in some relationships, claiming that some interactions now quickly turn into requests for money.
The entertainer said he is at a stage in life where he desires companionship with a supportive and genuine partner.
“I can’t even lie, I’m getting old. Dating culture in Nigeria is becoming something else. Abeg where them dey see better woman now? Una get referral code. Any small thing, billing. Small hello, billing. How’re you, billing,” he stated.
His comments have sparked conversations online, with some Nigerians debating the pressures, expectations and financial dynamics that increasingly shape modern relationships.
While dating experiences vary from person to person, Whitemoney’s remarks reflect broader discussions among young Nigerians about trust, compatibility and the balance between emotional connection and financial expectations in relationships.
