    Nigeria Reports One COVID-19 Death, 168 New Cases

    Daily new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria stood at 168 on September 19, 2021, marking a decrease from the Saturday's report which saw 336 cases. While the total number of deaths in hospitals rose by one.

    There have been 201,798 infections and 2,655 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 190,563, including 275 recoveries reported on Sunday.

    Active cases in Nigeria dropped by 108 on Sunday. Total now stands at 8,580.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC who disclosed this via its official website said that the new cases were recorded across 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    With Lagos accounting for the largest number of infected individuals, the breakdown released by NCDC as follows – Lagos-75, Abia-26, Niger-20, FCT-15, Benue-8, Ogun-8, Osun-7, Edo-3, Kaduna-2, Kano-2 and Ondo-2.

    The health officials, however, said that today’s report includes seven states with zero cases reported: Bauchi, Ekiti, Imo, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, and Sokoto

    A backlog of discharged cases for Niger State on 11th September till date, including community discharges managed in line with guidelines.
