Super Eagles Depart Nigeria for Cote d’Ivoire

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived at the Aéroport International Felix Houphouet Boigny d’Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations starting on Saturday.

The team, which left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos on Wednesday morning, was led by coach Jose Peseiro and captain Ahmed Musa.

Members of the Nigeria national football team were dressed in native attires, putting on a white kaftan with green caps, showcasing Nigeria’s national colours.

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, urged the Super Eagles to win the AFCON, stating that the triumph of the Eagles would bring succour to the citizens.

The governor gave the charge when he hosted the team to a special dinner at the Lagos House, Marina, before the team’s departure to Cote d’Ivoire for the AFCON tournament, which is slated to commence on Saturday, January 13.
