    COVID-19: NCDC Reports 28 New Cases

    Nigeria health officials announced 28 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory, raising the country total to 165,301 since tracking began in February 27 2020.

    Of these new cases, ten were reported in Lagos, seven in Rivers and six in Akwa Ibom.

    While Delta and FCT confirmed two cases each, Kaduna reported one case.

    There are currently 155,424  recoveries recorded in Nigeria, including 21  people who recovered from the deadly disease (COVID-19) and discharged from hospitals across the nation in the past 24 hours.

    Meanwhile, no death were linked to the infection in the last 24 hours, making the nationwide toll to stand at 2,065.

    The total active coronavirus cases in the country now 7,814, according to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    NCDC noted that, data from Akwa Ibom State recorded over the last two days and data from Delta State recorded for 5th May, 2021.
