Doctor Strange 2 Trailer Reveals a Whole Lot of Multiversal Madness

'Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' has dropped its trailer and takes Marvel's Phase 4 in an exciting new direction. Fans are fresh off the fun ride, having seen Peter Parkers from different universes come together in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. While Marvel has explored different timelines and dimensions in shows like 'Loki' as well, this has to be the boldest foray yet, helmed by the sorcerer extraordinaire.

We see Dr Strange beginning to grapple with the consequences of his spell - most definitely a reference to the spell he uses in the new Spider-Man film. There are some extremely trippy visuals throughout, true to the tone set by the first film that introduced the character.

Mordo, the former right hand at Kamar-Taj, and who we know eventually becomes an antagonist in the comics, engages in dialogue with Strange as we come to realize that the two are probably now on different paths. Wanda Maximoff, or Scarlet Witch, is back. We last see her coping with Vision's death and get a true glimpse of her power as she changes the very fabric of reality.

Now, when Strange enlists her help, Wanda agrees to come to the aid of a fellow Avenger. Fans can see Elizabeth Olsen in her full Scarlet Witch outfit, but the takeaway from the trailer has to be the existence of an evil Dr Strange.

The film might just delve into a character dilemma as the trailer teases that Strange is the greatest threat to the very universe he is supposed to protect.

Sam Raimi, best known for directing the initial Spider-Man trilogy, starring Tobey Maguire in the titular role, is back to helm the new Dr Strange movie. Initially, the trailer was added as the final post credit in the Spider-Man movie, but has now been put up online. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
