    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 1 Death, 272 New Cases

    Nigeria recorded 272 additional cases of the novel coronavirus in 9 states, with one death from the disease on Saturday.

    The country has registered 170,895 cases of the virus since the pandemic began, while the official death toll has risen to 2,132, the Nigeria Centre for  Disease Control NCDC revealed while giving the daily report.

    The total cumulative recoveries stand at 164,788 today with 8 patients recovered and discharged.

    Active cases in Nigeria keep moving up everyday, the nation’s active caseload is now 3,965 up from 3,702 a days ago.

    According to the breakdown released by the health officials, Lagos, the epicentre of the disease in the country, led with 182 new infections, followed by Rivers with 34 and Ondo with 24 infections.

    Ten of the new cases were reported in Oyo, seven cases each in Abia, and Ogun. Ekiti reported five, Delta had two and Plateau reported one case.

    Today’s report includes zero cases in three states, Kaduna, Kano, and Sokoto.
