    COVID-19: 23 New Cases Reported in Nigeria

    Novel coronavirus COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have climbed up to 213,487 after Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced 23 new infections on Friday. While the number of active cases rose from 4,199 to 4,213 during the same period.

    The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 100 for 3 days in a row and less than 50 on Friday.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 9 more patients from hospitals across the country. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease moved up to 206,301.

    The death toll remained 2,973 with no fatality recorded in 2 days according to the data shared by NCDC.

    According to the breakdown, Plateau reported nine cases of the newly reported infections, six cases were reported in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Bauchi and Sokoto reported three cases each, Kaduna and Kano reported one case each.

    NCDC noted that Bayelsa, Delta, Katsina, and Rivers reported no cases of the virus on Friday.
