    87 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Nigeria

    Health officials in Nigeria on Sunday said that the nation has registered 87 additional cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in five states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC showed that no patients died of coronavirus-related complications in the past 72 hours, making it a month since the nation reported no death.

    While 16 new patient have been successfully treated and discharged, the total people who have recovered from COVID-19 rose to 249,476.

    NCDC added that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 2,572 up by 71 from 2,501 it was on Friday March 18, 2022.

    Of the 87 new cases reported, 34 case were found in Lagos, FCT had 23 cases and Rivers had 21 cases.

    While Osun, Kano and Kaduna reported 4, 3 and respectively.

    According to NCDC, the newly recorded infections raised the country’s tally of confirmed cases to 255,190, while the death toll from the infectious stand at 3,142.

    NCDC noted that the report includes 11 States with zero cases reported: Abia, Bauchi, Delta, Ekiti, Kano, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto.
