Nigeria on Saturday recorded 1,143 new cases of the novel
coronavirus (COVID-19) in 19 states and Federal Capital Territory.
At least 1,533 people have recovered from the disease and
discharged, while 13 more coronavirus-linked deaths were recorded.
People discharged today includes 1,040 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this
via its official twitter page.
The breakdown of new cases showed that Lagos topped the list
with 319 infections, followed by FCT with 157, Kwara with 90 and Oyo with 74 cases.
While Enugu had 72, Nasarawa confirmed 69, Imo with 58, Osun
had 51, Gombe had 49 and Kaduna reported 31 cases.
Also, Edo, Katsina and Kebbi reported 23 cases each, Ogun-22,
Kano and Rivers had 19 cases each, Ebonyi-18, Plateau-14, Delta-7 and Ekiti-5 cases.
NCDC added that till date, 145,664 cases have been
confirmed, 120,399 cases have been discharged and 1,747 deaths have been
recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
