According to an update published by the
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the new infections which were recorded
in 3 states and the Federal Capital Territory increased the total confirmed
cases in the country to 254,501 on Saturday.
Again, no new death was recorded in the last
24 hours, marking it eighth consecutive days without fatality recorded.
In the same period, the health officials announced the discharge of 130 patients from hospitals across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.
In its breakdown via its official Facebook page on Saturday, NCDC said Lagos recorded the highest number of
cases with 29 infections, which include a backlog of cases reported on 25th
(10) and 26th (19) February 2022.
While Delta, FCT and Rivers recorded 7, 2 and
2 respectively.
The health officials added that 9 states reported
zero cases on Saturdays: Ekiti, Kano, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases of
COVID-19 in Nigeria now stands at 254,501, including 3,142 deaths and 248,993
recoveries.
