According to a statement by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC as of Sunday,
the country has recorded 254,657 laboratory-confirmed cases. There have been no
new Covid-19-related deaths, leaving the confirmed death toll at 3,142.
Most new cases on Sunday were recorded in Imos
state which accounted for eight infections, Oyo had four infections, FCT and Osun
recorded two infections each and Kano had
one.
NCDC added that 8 states reported zero cases:
Bauchi, Edo, Ekiti, Kaduna, Ogun, Ondo, Rivers and Sokoto.
It also noted that today’s cases include 2
confirmed & 15 discharged cases reported in FCT on 5th March 2022.
NCDC said a total of
249,199 patients have recovered from the infection, as
28 patients were discharged after been clear of the disease on Sunday.
While the active cases declined to 2,316 from 2,325
it was 72 hours earlier.
