    Nigeria Reports Eight New COVID-19 Infections

    Nigeria reported a significant decline on Saturday in COVID-19 cases, as the West Africa nation's active cases continues to increase after Nigerians who have arrived from Ukraine tested positive for COVID-19.

    At least 8 additional cases were reported on Saturday, this pushed the number of positive COVID-19 infections in Nigeria to 254,953, according to data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    Kwara and Lagos are the only two states with new cases on Saturday, both reported four cases each.

    While 5 states, Bauchi, FCT, Kaduna, Rivers and Sokoto reported zero cases.

    The death toll in the nation still stand at 3,142 as no new virus-related deaths were added on Saturday.

    There are a total of 249,340 recoveries since the start of the pandemic, which is around 97.8 per cent of known cases. Resolved cases increased by 5 from the previous day.
