The nation’s health officials reported that additional
ten Nigeria residents are down with COVID-19 on Tuesday, as while the
positivity rate dropped marginally.
The new numbers represent a significant decrease
from 35 COVID-19 patients hospitalized a day earlier.
There have been 254,570 infections and 3,142
coronavirus-related deaths reported in the nation since the pandemic began.
In addition to those numbers, another 11 patients were reported to have recovered from the disease and were discharged on Tuesday. This raises the total number of recoveries in the nation to 249,090, according to an update published by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.
Total number of active cases now stands at 2,353.
NCDC said the new cases were reported in two states
of the federation.
It added that Edo reported eight cases and Cross
River had two cases.
The health
officials statee that eight confirmed cases reported in Edo state are backlog
of 28th February 2022.
And two confirmed cases with nine discharged
reported in Cross River are also backlog of 28th February 2022.
NCDC noted that six states reported no COVID-19
cases on Tuesday: Abia, Bauchi, Delta, Nasarawa, Rivers and Sokoto.
