Tinubu, Yusuf Mourns Ace Kannywood Actress

President Bola Tinubu and  Kano State Governor Abba kabir Yusuf  has condoled with the family, colleagues, and fans of ace Kannywood actress, Saratu Gidado, who passed away on Tuesday morning in Kano.

Tinubu described the passing of the 56-year-old movie star as saddening, not only to those mourning but also to the nation, which she honoured through her talent as a thespian.

He said beyond the vacuum her demise has created in the flourishing entertainment industry, Ms. Gidado’s humanitarian pursuits will also be sorely missed.

The President also sent his commiserations to the Kano State Government and to all those impacted by Ms. Saratu Gidado’s passing while praying for Allah’s mercy on her soul.

On his part, Kano State Governor Abba kabir Yusuf admonished all stakeholders within the Hausa film-making industry to emulate late Gidado’s virtues of fostering National unity, and advocating for religious and cultural harmony to promote peace in Kano, and the entire Northern region.

Daso’s popularity and acceptance resonated beyond her exploits in the entertainment world Kannywood to her acknowledged impact in humanitarian gestures.

He said: “Although, a genius to behold on the screen ,Daso unarguably captured more fans through her unparalleled commitment and devotion to philanthropy,which eloquently found expression in caring for orphans and the vulnerable set of the society.

“While most of her peers ,in the entertainment world revelled in showmanship and extravagant life styles ,late Gidado channeled most parts of her fortune to promoting the welfare and survival of the less privileged,particularly orphans .

“Daso, will be missed more by admirers of her philanthropy,than lovers of the make believe industry,where he shaped and moulded many characters through her quintessential roles.”

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf extolled the late actress for her exemplary impact on Northern households,noting that majority of her works in the film industry exemplified values of discipline, tenacity, and ethical standards essential for societal and national advancement.”

Governor Yusuf, while extending his sincere condolences to the family and members of the Hausa film industry ,prayed Allah to grant them the strength to endure the loss.

The late Kannywood actress passed on in the early hours of Tuesday April 9.
