    Two COVID-19 Deaths, 547 New Infections Reported in Nigeria

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC disclosed that two more people have died due to  coronavirus complications on Saturday.

    And additional 547 Nigeria residents tested positive to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    Data shared by the health officials shows that the country saw a total of 705 discharges in the last 24 hours.

    As of today, Nigeria has 10,038 active cases of COVID-19, Active cases in the country increased by 167 on Saturday.

    Cumulatively, the novel coronavirus has infected 198,786  people around the nation and 2,590 have lost their lives due to the virus infections, while 185,075 patients have recovered from the virus, since the outbreak in Nigeria last year’s February.

    According to the breakdown of the new cases, the highest figure was logged in Lagos with 110, while Oyo, Rivers and Anambra reported 72, 56 and 50 respectively.

    Others as follows Osun-49, Delta-48, FCT-42, Ekiti-29, Akwa Ibom-26, Abia-19, Kano-16, Edo-10, Benue-7, Ogun-6, Kaduna-5 and Bayelsa-2.

    Today's report includes, 31 confirmed cases from Delta are backlogs of August 2021 and 17 cases for 11th September 2021.

    Fifty confirmed cases from Anambra are backlogs of July to 11th September 2021, NCDC added.
