    Nigeria Logs 45 New COVID-19 Cases Saturday

    With 45 new infections of the novel coronavirus disease reported in Nigeria on Saturday, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC dashboard shows that the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the nation climbed to 213,532.

    The new cases represent a slight increase from the 23 infections logged Friday.

    The health officials reported no death due to the infection on Saturday. Total number of COVID deaths in the Nigeria since the start of the pandemic now stands at 2,973.

    At present, there 4,073 active coronavirus cases in Nigeria after 185 patients were discharged from hospitals following their recovery. With this, the nation’s cumulative recovery count rose to 206,4486.

    Today recoveries includes community discharges from FCT, NCDC said.

    The breakdown of the new cases which was recorded in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday as follows: Anambra-18, FCT-15, Lagos-9 Bauchi-1, Kano-1, Rivers-1.

    NCDC added that there are no new cases today in Katsina, Plateau, and Sokoto state.

    Also noted that the report includes backlog of 18 cases reported in Anambra state are for week 47 (11) and 20th Nov (7).

    Backlog of 15 cases reported in FCT are for week 47 (10) and 20th Nov (5).
